Your brain is the most important part of your body, but is often not treated with the respect it deserves. It is vital for anything you do, from body function, to how you think about things related to work and home life. If you are feeling a bit lethargic and think your brain could do with a bit of a tune up, this article will provide you with some useful tips to boost your brain power and improve your life.
- Take Your Vitamin B – Vitamin B is known to increase energy and is a good nutrient for the brain. If you are not getting enough Vitamin B in your natural diet, which most people don't in today's high stress lives, you should consider an herbal supplement which is high in Vitamin B. Vitamin B can be found naturally in fruits and vegetables as well as wholegrain cereals.
- Exercise Your Brain – without mental stimulation, your brain power can slow. You need to constantly stimulate your brain to ensure that it is working at its highest capacity. This will boost your mental recall and memory capabilities. To get your mind out of its daily rut, try puzzles such as crosswords or the new craze that is sudoko. Another option would be to learn a foreign language. Meditation is also useful in that it can help you reduce your stress levels, which in turn helps aid memory.
- Eat more fruit – Especially berries. These are known to be a fantastic source of anti-oxidants. This can also lead to improved dopamine levels which are essential to optimal brain functions.
- Breathe – With our hectic lives, most people do not breathe effectively. Oxygen is one of the best sources of energy available and you need to boost the level of oxygen reaching your brain. To teach yourself how to breathe effectively, lie flat on the floor with your hands placed on each side of your stomach with the fingers just touching. Breathe in slowly; ensuring the oxygen reaches the bottom of your lungs. This should lead to your stomach area expanding and your fingers moving slightly apart whilst you breathe in. Doing this slowly will have a similar calming effect to meditating.
- Exercise – improving your fitness will increase blood flow and improve the levels of oxygen reaching the brain.
- Eat more herbs – The power of herbs such as Ginkgo Biloba to boost brain power by increasing circulation has long been known.
Boosting your brain power will help improve your happiness, your career prospects and your home life. If you feel you are in a bit of a rut, follow the tips I have mentioned above and you will quickly see results. Read more here.
